Why this role is important to us

SimCorp is strengthening our Internal Security and are building up competencies within operational security. The team will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents in real-time. Implementation of security controls, maintenance of security infrastructure, and first-level troubleshooting of security issues.

What you will be responsible for
  • Handle day-to-day security operations and management
  • Continuously monitor traffic and system activities for signs of security breaches or suspicious behavior.
  • Regularly update and maintain security systems, such as intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and antivirus software.
  • Resolve vulnerability issues and apply patches to address security weaknesses in systems and applications.
  • Handle and own asset management process and tool.
What we value
  • Proficiency in using and managing security tools such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and antivirus solutions
  • Comprehensive understanding of network protocols, architecture, and security principles
  • Proven experience in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security incidents
  • Skills in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate routine security tasks and improve efficiency
  • Ability to conduct vulnerability assessments and implement remediation measures
  • Keen ability to notice and investigate subtle anomalies or indicators of compromise
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations, determine root causes, and develop effective solutions
  • Motivated person - curious to learn, explore and innovate to deliver reliability
  • Independent starter - be innovative and take the initiative
  • Team Player - collaborate across boundaries and share knowledge and solve problems
  • Flexibility to handle unexpected incidents and quickly adapt to evolving security threats
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle incidents and service requests effectively
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative team player attitude
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest in technology
  • A service-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality support and solutions
  • Have a high 'Sense of Urgency' and focus on prioritizing tasks
  • Knowledge and experience of using ITSM tools, preferably Jira and Confluence
  • ITIL Foundation or higher level of ITIL certification.
  • Amenability to work on a Hybrid setup (2x per week) and shifting schedule (APAC, EMEA, NA hours)
