The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective internal control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. The Internal Control Supervisor will manage a team of professionals, conduct audits, assess risks, and provide guidance to strengthen internal controls and safeguard the organization's assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the Internal Control team, providing direction, guidance, and support to ensure the achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive internal control frameworks, policies, and procedures to mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of financial transactions, processes, and systems to assess compliance with internal control standards, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze financial data and documentation to identify areas of risk, inefficiency, or non-compliance, and recommend appropriate corrective actions or process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and compliance, to assess control effectiveness, address control deficiencies, and implement remediation plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internal control measures, processes, and procedures, and recommend enhancements or modifications as necessary.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations, industry standards, and best practices related to internal controls, and ensure timely updates to internal control frameworks and procedures.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management and external auditors regarding internal control findings, recommendations, and remediation plans.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to team members to enhance their knowledge, skills, and capabilities in internal controls and auditing practices.
Qualifications

The candidate must possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in internal auditing, accounting, or financial analysis, with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal control frameworks, audit methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively motivate, coach, and mentor team members.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and make sound recommendations.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity in work output, and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
