The Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Head is responsible for building broad based partnership with the government sector, development actors, business sectors and key stakeholders to advocate for a favorable policy environment for business to operate within and around the Project area and gain social acceptability. In addition, the SEP head is task to maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders by managing their concerns and expectations and ensuring their active participation throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Safety and Environment:Ensure that SEP team complies with the Safety and environmental policies and standards of the company and that a culture of such is imbibed.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership:Lead the team in advocating for the NMIA Project area and build broad based alliances of diverse stakeholder groups byimplementing a comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategy consistent with the IFC Performance Standards and NMIA project requirements. Engage with stakeholders through various channels, including meetings, consultations, workshops, and public forums, to seek their input, address concerns, and promote dialogue.
  3. Disclosure Management: Lead the team to implement effective and strategic Project disclosure plan by identifying and prioritizing key stakeholders, considering their interests, concerns, and potential impacts of the project togenerate and gain social acceptability with the support of the Communications Team.Conduct stakeholder mapping exercises to identify relevant stakeholders, their roles, relationships, and levels of influence Define strategies and approaches for effective stakeholder engagement, ensuring inclusiveness, transparency, and responsiveness.
  4. Community Agreements Tracking: Ensure mechanism is in place in banking and administration of social agreements to effectively manage grievance from the stakeholders.
  5. Risk Management.Mastery in the language and elements of developing risk management plan that aligns with the business strategy and effectively address the lenders requirements in the areas of: identifying risks and their impacts to the business, develop a cohesive corrective actions and plans, manage the interactions and coordination amongst teams to implement the plans.
  6. Team Membership:Cooperate and collaborate with other members of the SMAI leadership in achievement of the company's strategic objectives.
  7. Team Leadership: Lead effectively and efficiently the Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership team that will build and sustain partnership with key stakeholders of the NMIA project.
  8. Cost Management and Accountability: Ensure prudent and judicious use of company resources without compromising the delivery of quality products and outputs in the most effective and efficient way.
  9. Agile and Flexible.As a senior member of the leadership team, can lead and operate in an changing nature of the work to support the fast paced requirement of the construction activities which require agility and flexibility to assume greater responsibilities in the organization.
  10. Subject Matter Expert. This role is seen as a subject matter expert for PS1, PS4, and PS5 and is expected in the interim to help the E&S Group Head to support the Stakeholder Engagement Team keep up to the IFC level of proficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's in social sciences, community development, Communications, Public Administration or a related field.
  2. At least 10 years in experience in stakeholder engagement, community relations, or social performance management, preferably in large infrastructure or construction projects.
  3. In-depth knowledge of the IFC Performance Standards and their application in stakeholder management.
  4. Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement principles, frameworks, and best practices.
  5. Experience in stakeholder mapping, analysis, and consultation processes.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholder groups.
  7. Experience in managing/leading a team
