As the CloudPay Infrastructure team transforms into a platform engineering leader, this DBA role becomes pivotal in driving our success while ensuring data security remains paramount for both CloudPay and our customers. With a relentless focus on software-defined infrastructure and CI/CD automation, you'll be the key to unlocking the full potential of our persistent data. Your expertise will shape the way we architect, secure, and optimise both structured and non-structured data stores across the cloud. This means ensuring seamless data access for our applications, empowering rapid development cycles through CI/CD integration, and building an unyielding defense for our most valuable assets. Your work isn't just about managing databases – it's about enabling the agility, scalability, innovation, and unwavering data security that will define CloudPay's future.

Daily Duties and Main Responsibilities will include:

• Maintain and improve the high availability of our database service, ensuring 24×7 operations.

• Manage and monitor both SQL and NoSQL databases and optimizing the performance of the databases.

• Develop and implement data management processes, database design, and security standards.

• Perform database backup and recovery tasks.

• Regularly review and analyse our database software, suggesting and implementing improvements and upgrades.

• Assist our software engineers with queries, indices, and database schema design.

• Troubleshoot and solve database issues and failures.

Attributes and Experience Required:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator.

• Hands-on experience with diverse SQL and NoSQL databases like MySQL/MariaDB, Postgres, and MongoDB.

• Proven background in database security protocols, data backup, recovery, and SQL optimization.

• BASH Scripting proficiency to help with automations will be a plus.
