Magnetics Engineer (Mechanical)

The Magnetics Engineer (Mechanical) will be designing magnetic assemblies and tooled parts with consideration to manufacturability, quality, cost, and performance for Switch Mode Power Supply Application. Release specifications as per product design requirements. Coordinate with vendors for fabrication of parts and factory for verification of actual parts. Support all inquiries and technical info needed.

Responsibilities
  1. Design plastic parts such as bobbin, header, holder, and spacers for magnetic parts such as Transformers and Inductors used in Switch Mode Power Supply Applications.
  2. Handle other Mechanical custom designs such as cu busbar/flat wire windings; planar windings, custom ferrite cores and transformer/inductor assemblies.
  3. Responsible in sustaining mechanical parts inquiries and updates.
  4. Release specifications and communicate with vendors for mechanical parts tooling.
  5. Consider cost, performance, standardization, and quality on all items designed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in R&D or Design environment
  • Knowledge in the following:
    • Plastic Molding
    • Proficient in 2D and 3D modeling (preferably Creo/Solidworks)
    • Mechanical parts design and Tolerance Analysis
    • Manufacturing processes of Magnetic parts or Electronic product
    • Technical Report Writing
    • Computer Literate (MS Excel, Word, Power Point)
