The assistant purchasing staff is an entry level for a buyer post. He/she is responsible for minor items that are purchased by the company for its daily operational needs. Reporting structure is with the Purchasing Manager.

Responsibilities.

He/She needs to be able to do the following:


  • Encodes all transactions in the system for easy monitoring of requested and approved purchase requisition or order.
  • Addresses suppliers of minor items as endorsed by the manager.
  • Organizes reference materials as source of research in the unit.
  • Gets directions from his/her immediate head.


    Requirements.

    To succeed in the job one must have the following:

    • Graduate of any course or its equivalent work experience;
    • Minimum of one (1) year hands on experience in the purchasing department is an advantage.
    • Operative communication skills both written and verbal using the English language across all levels within the organization;
    • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Applications such as but not limited to excel, word, PowerPoint among others;
    • Strong working knowledge in SAP/Microsoft Dynamics 365 or any Enterprise Resource Planning programs;
    • Remarkable orientation to work details;
    • Functioning skills in problem solving and analysis;
    • Excellent administrative skills; AND
    • Undoubtedly with high level of job integrity.
