Summary Description:

Working with an emerging shared services organization, the General Ledger Team Lead is

responsible for leading and supporting a Dover business segment’s processing of general ledger

transactions. While managing a small team of accountants, this role is responsible for investigating and

correcting escalated issues while maintaining positive relationships with internal and external customers, as measured by service level agreements and key performance indicators. This position reports to the GL Manager and is based in Cebu, Philippines.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Oversees a group of team leads in terms of process execution

• Ensures that audit findings are addressed and closed promptly

• Acts as quality champion

• Assists the team leads in meeting organizational goals

• Oversees new OpCo transition

• Attends new transition huddles and address BPT concerns

• Resolves OpCo escalation during and after process transition

• Stabilizes operations after hard cut-over

• Acts as process improvement champion

• Coaches direct reports

• Represents and implements HR engagement activities

• Spearheads in the conversion of Non-Delegated JE to Delegated JE

• Participates in the screening, recruitment and hiring of applicants

• Performs periodic review of capacity or utilization plan

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Management Accounting; CPA preferred

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in GL processes and Accounting & Financial Controls

• At least 3+ years supervisory experience

• At least 3+ years in the shared services model

• Previous experience in general accounting, with exposure to:

o US GAAP and IFRS

o Fixed Asset, Cash Management and Intercompany Accounting

• Experienced with major ERP Systems (i.e. SAP, Oracle, etc.); Oracle preferred

• Proficiency using Microsoft Excel (i.e. basic to complex formulas, pivoting, graphs and charts,

Macro Excel is a plus)

• Six-sigma trained is a plus

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Applications (including SharePoint and Web-based

applications)

• Ability to lead a small and large group of professionals

• Ability to work with leads and managers of other teams and functions

• Uses gamification, empowerment, trust and other strategies as appropriate to develop and

motivate team members

• Ability to develop, implement and assess performance metrics

• Ability to critically analyze data and determine its validity

• Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment while remaining organized with strict

attention to detail

• Ability to meet deadlines and produce accurate results

• Willing to work flexible hours when business conditions dictate

• High level of customer focus and ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations

where only limited standardization exists

• Self-directed, positive and ethical role model able to work with minimal supervision

• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times with customer and coworkers; fully
