Job Purpose:

  • To help develop and maintain a best-practice risk management capability embedded across the business.

Critical Accountabilities

1. Risk management framework:

  • Help ensure an effective risk management framework is established and implemented to comply with AXA Group's regional and relevant international and statutory risk management standards.
  • Assist management in identifying and assessing the risks they face including emerging risks. Understand the operating environment, and assist and guide each function to develop risk control measures and mitigation strategies.


2. Formal Risk Opinion:

  • Provide proactive, formal second opinions on key financial or other business decisions, including but not limited to investments, ALM, product development & pricing, capital management, and distribution compensation.
  • Actively contribute to certain management committees, such as the Product Management, In-vestment & ALM, and Audit & Compliance committees.


3. Risk Culture:

  • Participate in the company's Risk committee to ensure that senior management regularly reviews the risk profile of the business and associated mitigation plans.
  • Work closely and collectively with functional units to support management in ensuring their key risks are identified, assessed, reported, and managed.


  • An affiliate of a recognized actuarial institute, CERA, or member of other risk institutes is preferred.
  • Graduate degree (post-graduate, preferred) in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, or other course relevant to Risk.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in financial services, including a minimum 1 year in life insurance actuarial or related work.
  • Experience in asset-liability management, product pricing and development, investment, capital management, financial analysis, projection, valuation, or similar work.
  • Effective at analyzing problems, synthesizing relevant information, identifying key issues, and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with multiple customers and/or colleagues outside the team.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills are required.
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills
