Department: Engineering & Maintenance Industry: Poultry Dressing Plant Reports To: Engineering Supervisor / Maintenance Supervisor Job Summary The Boiler Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the plant’s boiler system to ensure adequate steam supply for poultry dressing plant operations, including processing, sanitation, and other utility requirements. The position performs routine monitoring, basic maintenance, documentation, and immediate response to abnormal boiler conditions. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor boilers, feedwater systems, pumps, burners, water treatment equipment, and related auxiliaries.
- Maintain the required steam pressure, temperature, water level, and other operating parameters based on plant requirements.
- Conduct regular inspection and recording of boiler operating conditions and utility consumption.
- Perform boiler start-up, normal operation, blowdown, and shutdown according to approved procedures.
- Ensure continuous steam availability required for production and sanitation activities.
- Monitor boiler water quality and coordinate or perform required water treatment activities.
- Inspect the boiler and associated equipment for leaks, unusual noise, excessive vibration, overheating, or other abnormal conditions.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor troubleshooting within authorized limits.
- Immediately report equipment abnormalities, breakdowns, unsafe conditions, or potential production interruptions to the Engineering/Maintenance Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate boiler log sheets, operating records, preventive maintenance records, and fuel/water consumption records.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S within the boiler room and surrounding utility areas.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, fire safety, confined-space, chemical-handling, and other applicable occupational safety procedures.
- Observe plant food safety, hygiene, GMP/GHP, biosecurity, and food defense requirements applicable to the work area.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, Sanitation, and Engineering personnel regarding steam requirements and planned shutdowns.
- Assist during preventive maintenance, inspection, testing, and servicing conducted by authorized personnel or third-party service providers.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor. Pay: Php15,600.00
