About the role
This role involves preparing detailed architectural, structural, and engineering drawings using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other CAD/BIM platforms. You will develop accurate 2D drawings, construction details, plans, elevations, sections, and schedules based on engineering and architectural designs, and interpret engineering sketches, specifications, calculations, and design concepts to convert them into detailed technical drawings.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare detailed architectural, structural, and engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other CAD/BIM platforms
- Develop accurate 2D drawings, construction details, plans, elevations, sections, and schedules based on engineering and architectural designs
- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, calculations, and design concepts and convert them into detailed technical drawings
- Assist engineers in preparing structural drawings for beams, columns, slabs, foundations, steel structures, and other structural components
- Revise and update drawings based on design changes, site conditions, engineer/client comments, and project requirements
- Coordinate closely with Civil/Structural Engineers, Architects, Project Managers, and other design professionals to ensure accuracy and consistency of drawings
- Prepare drawings suitable for construction, permitting, submission, and client review
- Maintain proper organization, naming, and revision control of drawings and project documents
- Conduct drawing checks to ensure dimensions, annotations, scales, details, and technical information are accurate and complete
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings and incorporating field/site changes into final documentation About you
- Bachelor's degree, diploma, or certificate in Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required
- Experience with Revit, SketchUp, or other BIM/3D modeling software is an advantage
- At least 2–5 years of experience in drafting, preferably in structural, civil, architectural, or construction projects
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
- Ability to meet project deadlines
- Able to work independently and effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team
- Willing to learn and adapt to Cayman Islands construction requirements, engineering standards, and project-specific drafting procedures
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, structural components, and drafting standards
