Laboratory Technician – Microbiological Laboratory

Job Description
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for providing technical and operational assistance to the Microbiological Laboratory Analyst in conducting microbiological analyses of raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, water, environmental samples, and other samples as required. The position ensures that laboratory activities are performed accurately, safely, and in accordance with established laboratory procedures, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), food safety requirements, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Laboratory Analyst in the preparation and processing of samples for microbiological analysis.
- Perform sample weighing, dilution, homogenization, and other basic sample preparation procedures as instructed.
- Assist in the preparation, sterilization, labeling, and proper storage of microbiological media, reagents, and other laboratory materials.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of laboratory glassware, utensils, equipment, and supplies needed for daily analyses.
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of laboratory work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Properly handle, segregate, and dispose of microbiological and laboratory waste following established biosafety and waste management procedures.
- Assist in the proper labeling, storage, and organization of samples and microbiological cultures.
- Monitor and record laboratory conditions such as temperature and other required environmental parameters.
- Assist in the cleaning, basic maintenance, and monitoring of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of incubators, refrigerators, work benches, and other laboratory areas.
- Accurately accomplish assigned laboratory forms, monitoring records, and other documentation.
- Ensure proper identification and traceability of samples, media, reagents, and laboratory materials.
- Report any abnormal observations, equipment issues, contamination, or other laboratory concerns to the Laboratory Analyst or Laboratory Supervisor.
- Follow established laboratory procedures, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of laboratory results, records, and other company information.
- Perform other laboratory-related duties as may be assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor or Laboratory Analyst. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Technology, or a related field.
- Registered/Licensed Microbiologist (RMT/Professional Microbiologist, as applicable) is preferred/required.
- Preferably with experience in a microbiological or food laboratory.
- Knowledge of microbiological testing methods, aseptic techniques, media preparation, and laboratory procedures.
- Familiarity with GMP, GLP, HACCP, and food safety standards is an advantage.
- Proficient in laboratory documentation, data recording, and result interpretation.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow SOPs and laboratory protocols.
- Willing to work in a laboratory/factory environment.
- Willing to work in Rizal, Palawan. Pay: Php11,936.58
- Php25,283.11 per month Work
