Sales Associate

Job description:

Responsible for developing business through brokers channel; meeting the assigned production goal by maintaining existing portfolio and soliciting new business; establishing good business relationship with the different brokers and meeting customer satisfaction thru sales and claims service consistent with company policies and procedures. Required to operate on a profit basis within the framework of policies, objectives and budgets.

Functions and Responsibilities

Regular Functions

Preparation of Proposal/Quotation

• Receive requests for proposals/quotations from assigned intermediaries;
• Assess and determine their needs, requirements, possible extensions, packages and rates to be applied;
• Seek underwriting approval and request for risk inspections, if necessary;
• Compute premium based on rates schedule; tariff provided by Underwriting
• Prepare, print and send quotations to assigned intermediaries;
• File and retain copies for future reference;
• Receive and request issuance for policy and endorsements from brokers using the system;
• Receive spoilage or cancellation request from assigned intermediaries
• Collate all necessary forms for the request and processes it for the approval of the Underwriting and/or Management
• Document the approved request and include in Underwriting copy for future reference
• Elevate concerns of assigned intermediaries and clients to immediate superior that may be beyond authority or have direct bearing on Company Guidelines and Policies and submits recommendations as may be appropriate;
• Provide Management with market information necessary to make informed decisions;
• Receive request for transfer of an existing account to a new intermediary and request for Broker on Record (BOR) letter of appointment;
• Forward BOR to the original intermediary and for confirmation and when confirmed prepare necessary document (SRF) to be routed to Management

Renewal Monitoring/Accounts Conservation

• Coordinate with Conservation unit on the list of accounts that is still unrenewed;
• Assist Conservation unit on regular follow up with intermediaries thru email or phone calls;
• Monitor on a weekly basis status of renewals and identify reason for non-renewal;
• Coordinate with Conservation unit and ensure that renewal and non-renewal advises are delivered to intermediary based on Company's Guidelines and Procedures.

Periodic Functions

1. Collection of O/S Accounts

2. Provide assistance to Collection in monitoring the premiums receivable from brokers

3. Assist collections in collecting outstanding premiums.

4. Production Monitoring

5. Monitor/review premium production of assigned accounts on a weekly basis and present during weekly meetings

6. Submit production reports to immediate superior;
7. Meet with assigned intermediaries to improve premium production;
8. Discuss ways to improve production of accounts, enhance service and discuss the monthly and aggregate assigned production goals.

Occasional Functions

1. Claims Assistance

2. Provide production, losses, payment habit, and other necessary information needed in claim processing or reconsideration;

3. Assist clients or intermediaries in getting the necessary feedback and updates from claims.

4. Involvement in company projects

5. Provide ideas and participate in the improvement and innovation of our products and services

6. Support/perform other tasks in line with the projects of the company;
7. Perform other tasks that maybe assigned by the Unit Head.

Job Specifications

Education & Training: Graduate of any business course preferably Marketing, Accounting, Finance; Knowledge on basic non-life insurance

Business Understanding:

• At least two (2) years work experience in Sales & Marketing activities
• Excellent interpersonal relations and oral and written communication skills
• Organized and highly adaptable
• Keen to details and analytical
• Capable of communicating to all levels of the organization, both internal and external, to express ideas clearly
• With good numerical skills
• Can manage various projects simultaneously
• Ability to influence and persuade internal and external clients
• Personal resilience and ability to perform effectively in pressurized environment
