Job Summary:

The Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently. This role ensures proper processing of payments, issuance of official receipts, safekeeping of cash and checks, and balancing of daily sales reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive payments from customers (cash, check, credit card, bank transfer, etc.) and issue official receipts.
  • Ensure accurate posting of transactions into the system.
  • Balance cash drawer and daily sales report at the end of the shift/day.
  • Prepare and submit daily cash and fund reports.
  • Deposit cash and check collections to the bank as scheduled.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of cash handling procedures.
  • Coordinate with other departments (sales, service, accounting) for transaction-related concerns.
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of documents related to financial transactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the cashiering area.
  • Report discrepancies, issues, or irregularities immediately to the supervisor or manager.
  • Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications:

  • At least a college level or degree in business/accounting is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in cashiering or a related position is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Trustworthy and possesses good moral character.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of POS or accounting systems.
