We are seeking a highly skilled, meticulous, and patient-focused Registered Ultrasound Technologist to join our clinical imaging team. The Registered Ultrasound Technologist is crucial for ensuring the accurate and efficient execution of all ultrasound services, prioritizing diagnostic quality, patient comfort, and regulatory compliance.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostic Imaging & Operations: Perform a broad spectrum of high-quality ultrasound examinations (e.g., abdominal, pelvic, obstetrical, small parts, vascular) utilizing state-of-the-art sonography equipment. Select and adjust technical factors, transducers, and scanning planes to optimize image quality.
  • Patient Care & Education: Prepare and position patients for optimal imaging results. Clearly explain procedures, address patient questions, and ensure maximum comfort and privacy during the examination, especially for nervous or anxious patients.
  • Image Acquisition & Documentation: Acquire, measure, and process permanent diagnostic images and video clips. Accurately document all technical findings, patient history, and procedure details in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Preliminary Interpretation & Reporting: Provide preliminary technical observations to the supervising physician/radiologist, highlighting any critical findings immediately. Ensure all images and associated reports are submitted promptly and securely for final interpretation.
  • Compliance & Administration: Maintain strict adherence to all infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols (e.g., transducer cleaning, equipment checks). Assist with DOH compliance and the compilation of necessary documentation.
  • Resource Management: Proactively manage and care for expensive sonography equipment. Coordinate routine maintenance and calibration, and manage the inventory of supplies (e.g., gels, linen, cleaning solutions).

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist or possess equivalent qualifications/certifications (e.g., from the Philippine Society of Sonographers or a recognized international body).
  • Must possess a valid professional license/certification if mandated by local regulations.
  • Exceptional knowledge of human cross-sectional anatomy and physiology relevant to sonography.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to producing high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction and collaboration with the clinical team.
  • Must be flexible and amenable to performing outreach or home service ultrasound examinations when required.
