Truck Electrician

Job Summary: Inspect, repair, and maintain the electrical systems of trucks to ensure safe and reliable operation. Perform troubleshooting, wiring, installation, and preventive maintenance specific to truck electrical components.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair electrical issues in trucks, including wiring, lighting, horns, starters, alternators, batteries, and electronic control systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and regular inspections on truck electrical systems to ensure roadworthiness and avoid breakdowns.
• Install electrical components such as lights, relays, sensors, and other truck accessories.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and manufacturer manuals specific to truck systems.
• Use diagnostic tools and electrical testers to identify faults in truck circuits and components.
• Ensure all repairs and installations comply with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules for each truck.
• Collaborate with mechanics, dispatchers, and operations teams to schedule timely repairs and avoid service disruptions.
• Keep the work area clean and ensure proper storage and maintenance of electrical tools and equipment.
• Stay updated with new truck electrical technologies and participate in training as needed.
