Tradesman

We are urgently seeking a highly skilled and proactive Machine Shop Assistant to function as a critical technical resource and team supervisor on the shop floor. This role requires an expert machinist who is not only dedicated to producing precision parts but also capable of effective team leadership and ensuring machine longevity through meticulous Preventive Maintenance Schedules (PMS). The ideal candidate must be available to start immediately.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Production & Quality Control

2. Expert Operation: Set up, program, and operate a diverse range of complex machinery, including CNC and manual mills, lathes, and grinders, to fabricate parts that meet precise dimensional specifications.

3. Technical Interpretation: Masterfully read and interpret complex engineering documents, including traditional blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards, and digital part data from AutoCAD drawings.

4. Precision Inspection: Use and calibrate precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges) to rigorously inspect all components, ensuring zero defects and maintaining quality assurance throughout every production run.

5. Leadership & Mentorship

6. Workflow Management: Demonstrate strong leadership skills by managing the daily production workflow, assigning jobs, and prioritizing tasks to ensure the team consistently meets tight deadlines and production quotas.

7. Team Development: Handle people effectively by serving as a primary mentor and technical resource, training junior machinists on machine setup, efficient techniques, shop safety, and quality standards.

8. Positive Environment: Foster a professional, safe, and high-performing team environment, resolving minor operational conflicts quickly and constructively.

9. Maintenance & Documentation

10. Preventive Maintenance (PMS): Be responsible for designing, organizing, and executing the Preventive Maintenance Schedules (PMS) for all shop equipment and tooling to maximize machine uptime and significantly minimize expensive breakdowns.

11. Reporting and Data: Maintain accurate and detailed production records, quality checks, and maintenance logs, compiling clear, digestible data summaries and reports using Microsoft Excel.
12. Troubleshooting: Expertly diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, programming, or tooling issues quickly to restore machine operation.

Required Qualifications

• Availability: Must be able to start ASAP (As Soon As Possible).
• Maintenance: Proven ability to conduct PMS (Preventive Maintenance Schedules) and perform minor mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
• Technical Literacy: Proficient in reading and navigating complex technical files, including AutoCAD drawings.
• Software Skills: Strong working knowledge of MS Excel for data tracking, reporting, and scheduling.
• Leadership: Demonstrated good leadership skills and experience in managing or mentoring a team on the shop floor.
• Equipment Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of handling and programming different kinds of machines (CNC and manual).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to Php25,000.00 per month
