Job Description

A Chief Mate on a bulk carrier is the second-in-command and supervises all deck operations, including cargo loading, stowage, and unloading, to ensure vessel stability and safety. They are responsible for managing the deck department, overseeing safety and firefighting equipment, and conducting navigation watches. Their role also includes maintaining cargo integrity during the voyage and managing all related documentation.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 12 MONTHS OR MORE EXPERIENCE AS CHIEF OFFICER ON-BOARD
  • EXPERIENCE IN CRANCE TYPE BULK CARRIER
