Job Responsibilities

  • The STP Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Sequential Treatment Process (STP) systems. This includes monitoring, adjusting, and optimizing the treatment processes to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
  • Operate and monitor STP equipment and processes including pumps, valves, and filtration systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of STP facilities to ensure optimal performance.
  • Analyze data and monitor treatment conditions to adjust processes accordingly.
  • Maintain logs and records of plant operations, including flow rates, chemical usage, and effluent quality.
  • Collaborate with environmental and safety teams to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
  • Respond to operational alarms and emergencies, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Assist in the training of new operators and staff on STP operations and safety protocols.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses on influent and effluent samples.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications

  • College level or graduate of a technical-vocational course specializing in Electro-Mechanical.
  • Technical or vocational training in Water Treatment is preferred.
  • Previous experience in water treatment operations, particularly STP, is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of water quality regulations and treatment processes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in using monitoring and control systems.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations pertaining to wastewater treatment.
  • Ability to work on rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
