Steelman

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications.
• Erect structural steel frameworks, including beams, columns, and girders.
• Rig, hoist, and position steel components using cranes, derricks, and other lifting equipment.
• Bolt, weld, and rivet steel members to form complete structures.
• Install metal decking, stairs, handrails, and other structural elements.
• Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials.
• Cut, shape, and fit steel components using various tools and equipment.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including OSHA standards.
• Inspect and maintain rigging and lifting equipment.
• Conduct safety checks and participate in safety meetings.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work at heights safely.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Steelman/Ironworker.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and structural drawings.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including welding equipment.
• Knowledge of rigging and hoisting procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., welding, rigging) are a plus.
