Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the bank's day-to-day operational activities, ensuring efficient transaction processing, regulatory compliance, risk management, and exceptional service delivery. This role requires a leader with proven banking experience, strong team management skills, and expertise in creating and implementing operational policies and procedures in line with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) guidelines, industry best practices, and internal governance standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Management

  • Oversee branch or head office operational activities including deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, account servicing, check clearing, loan processing, and settlement.
  • Ensure compliance with BSP regulations, AMLA, Data Privacy Act, and other applicable laws.
  • Monitor transaction accuracy, service turnaround times, and operational efficiency.

Policy and Procedure Development

  • Draft, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational policies to align with BSP circulars and internal risk frameworks.

Conduct periodic policy reviews to reflect regulatory changes and operational improvements.
- Ensure that policies are communicated, understood, and implemented by all relevant employees

Risk and Compliance Management

  • Implement and maintain operational controls to mitigate risks, prevent fraud, and ensure business continuity.
  • Coordinate with Compliance, Internal Audit, and Risk Management for regulatory inspections and audit findings.
  • Oversee timely submission of required BSP and regulatory reports.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the operations team to achieve performance targets and maintain service quality.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and skills development programs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, and operational excellence.

Process Improvement

  • Identify gaps in operational workflows and recommend process automation or enhancements.
  • Work closely with IT, product, and customer service teams to ensure seamless operational support for banking products and services.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and submit periodic operational performance reports to senior management.
  • Maintain comprehensive and updated operational documentation for audit and reference purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduate of any four years course in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or any related field.

Experience(s): At least 3 years or more banking experience in operations, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.

Specific Knowledge: Policy creation and implementation, preferably in a regulated banking industry, In-dept knowledge and understanding of BSP regulations, AMLA, Data Privacy and industry standards.
