JOB SUMMARY

Review overall budget versus actual expenditures to ensure that funds are utilized appropriately, with close coordination of various units to deliver the accurate financial information status of the cost center, grant and designated accounts. Provide assistance to the Finance Manager regarding financial decisions, preparation and planning of budgets. Prepares a variety of operational and financial reports and budgetary topics in support of various cost center initiatives.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists the preparation of the unit's and the organization's budget estimates and ensures consistency with budgeting and accounting guidelines and parameters. Prepares and updates the procing matrix as basis for project proposals.
  • Participates in budget review for the programs/projects during the proposal stage and in the preparation of project recoveries.
  • Monitor financial performance through meaningful analysis on budget and actual expenditure to ensure that program funds are utilized appropriately by the close of the fiscal year.
  • Financial presentation, preparation and review of values for money margin negotiations.
  • Review monthly reports provided by Accounting and assist in the preparation of monthly Management Financial Reporting.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in ensuring the timeliness, accuracy and propriety of financial reports as well as in analyzing, integrating these, and in the making of necessary recommendations to the Management, Executive and Board for decision-making.
  • Coordinate and respond to internal and external parties, such as stakeholders and auditors in financial related queries and concerns.
  • Initiate process improvements for internal controls to safeguard the Organization's assets and control cash.
  • Propose changes to processing actions to the Treasury and Financial Planning Manager and strengthen internal controls by documenting and streamlining approval processes.
  • Review financial statements of various suppliers/vendors for Vendor accreditation.
  • Prepare a billing of project recoveries based on memo provided by the Operations units.
  • Identifies areas for improvement in relation to financial policies, system and procedures and recommendsthe same to the Finance Manager and the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Performs other related duties that may be assigned by the Finance Manager or Chief Financial Officer.
