Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces, including stoves, ovens, grills, countertops, and sinks, following established cleaning procedures and sanitation guidelines.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in the kitchen, dining room, and other areas of the restaurant, removing debris, spills, and stains to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Empty trash bins and recycling containers throughout the restaurant, disposing of waste properly and replacing trash liners as needed.
  • Clean and stock restrooms with supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and hand sanitizer, ensuring cleanliness and availability for guests.
  • Wipe down tables, chairs, booths, and other furniture in the dining room, removing crumbs, spills, and fingerprints to maintain a neat and orderly appearance.
  • Assist with dishwashing duties during peak periods or as needed, including sorting, washing, and stacking dishes, utensils, and glassware using commercial dishwashing equipment.
  • Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and assembling menu items, under the direction of the chef or kitchen manager.
  • Assist servers and bartenders with clearing tables, resetting place settings, and refilling condiments and supplies as needed to support smooth service operations.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the management team, including leaks, broken fixtures, or malfunctioning appliances.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to safety guidelines, to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.

Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma.
  • Previous experience in a janitorial, cleaning, or utility role for at least 1 year is required.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of sanitation and hygiene.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, bending, and reaching, and to operate cleaning equipment effectively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operating hours.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team, supporting coworkers and contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment, with the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
