Accounting Head – Team Leader & Financial Steward Role Overview

We're looking for a proactive Accounting Head who is not just a numbers expert but a strong leader who can motivate, guide, and elevate our accounting team. You will own the end-to-end accounting function — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting — while building a high-performing team that consistently meets deadlines and drives improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead & Manage the Accounting Team

  • Provide clear direction and leadership to accounting assistants and encoders
  • Delegate tasks effectively and monitor progress to ensure deadlines are met
  • Mentor and develop team members to enhance skills and accountability
  • Foster a culture of accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement

Drive Financial Accuracy & Compliance

  • Oversee preparation of timely, accurate financial statements and reports
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, BIR filings, government remittances, and audits
  • Collaborate with external auditors and ERP implementers for smooth financial processes

Optimize Accounting Operations

  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks or backlogs in reporting and documentation
  • Lead process improvements and standardize workflows for efficiency
  • Monitor cash position, payments, and collections to maintain healthy cash flow

ERP & Systems Leadership

  • Act as the primary liaison with ERP implementation team
  • Ensure team adapts quickly to new systems and reporting tools
  • Generate insightful reports to support management decisions

Who You Are

  • A proven team leader with 5+ years managing accounting functions and staff
  • Skilled in financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit coordination
  • Strong communicator who can motivate and develop a diverse team
  • Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset to improve processes and meet goals
  • Experience with ERP systems is a big plus; CPA preferred
