Materials Engineer

Role Overview:

The Materials Engineer will be responsible for supervising and validating laboratory testing of construction materials such as concrete, aggregates, soil, cement, asphalt, and steel. The role ensures that all testing procedures meet industry standards and client specifications, with proper documentation and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee laboratory testing of construction materials in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and DPWH standards
• Review, validate, and sign test reports for accuracy and completeness
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Supervise laboratory personnel and provide technical guidance
• Evaluate test results and assist in troubleshooting discrepancies
• Maintain proper documentation, test records, and material certifications
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality control procedures
• Coordinate with clients, site engineers, and project teams regarding test requirements

Qualifications:

• Licensed Civil Engineer
• Must be a DPWH-accredited Materials Engineer I or II
• At least 2 years of experience in a construction materials testing laboratory
• Strong knowledge of material testing procedures, lab standards, and QA/QC practices
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
• Willing to be assigned at the laboratory full-time; field experience is a plus
