Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Quantity Surveyor Engineer with in-depth knowledge of plumbing and fire protection systems, in accordance with Philippine codes and standards (NPC, FCP, Fire Code of the Philippines, and National Building Code). The successful candidate will be responsible for cost estimation, quantity take-off, procurement support, and project cost control across various stages of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for mechanical systems, with emphasis on plumbing and fire protection.
- Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on design drawings and specifications.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor quotations, proposals, and material submissions.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures related to mechanical works.
- Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure cost and material alignment with project specifications and Philippine standards.
- Support procurement by preparing RFQs, evaluating bids, and assisting in technical and commercial evaluations.
- Assist in change order assessments, variation claims, and cost impact analysis.
- Ensure compliance with the National Plumbing Code of the Philippines (NPCP), Fire Code of the Philippines (RA 9514), and other applicable standards.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure proper implementation of plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Conduct site visits to verify quantities, validate installed works, and monitor material usage and wastage.
- Prepare regular cost reports, progress reports, and financial summaries for management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Must be a Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PRC Registered).
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in mechanical quantity surveying, with focus on plumbing and fire protection.
- Strong understanding of Philippine construction practices, codes, and regulations (NPCP, FCP, NBCP).
- Proficient in quantity surveying software (PlanSwift, AutoCAD, MS Excel).
- Familiarity with project management and cost control tools.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
