This is a remote position.

Job Highlights

Contract: Independent Contractor
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Includes 1-hour unpaid break)
Client Timezone: Chicago, IL time
Key Responsibilities

• Assist with construction work breakdown, creation of request for bid documents,
vendor qualification, project procurement, and selection approvals.

• Assist with project scheduling, documentation, RFIs, and submittals.

• Provide design support, including layout refinement and coordination of
architectural and MEP elements.

• Provide back-office engineering support to Project Managers

• Produce detailed construction drawings for refrigeration, utilities, and building
systems in AutoCAD.

• Provide sales support in work breakdown and estimating support on prospective
projects.

• Support MEP design development and help evaluate equipment selections for
mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration systems.

• Review drawings / specifications and assist with resolving technical issues.

• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, project managers, and field supervisors.

• Support installation details of refrigeration equipment, MEP systems, architectural
features, and insulated panel systems.

• Source and track material and equipment deliveries

• Create detailed reports for work instruction and project status

• Coordinate project documentation and file access

This position requires a results orientated, technically competent individual with a technical background combined with experience and ability to master concepts quickly and efficiently deliver results.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• History of construction and engineering experience.

• Background or continuing development in project management methods

• Excellent English Language verbal and written communication

• Attention to detail, independent work, and urgency

• Excellent organizational skills in approach and records management

• Strong skills in AutoCAD and ability to produce clear construction details.

• Ability to read and interpret construction and MEP drawings.

• Preferred: experience with cold storage, refrigeration systems, or food facility
construction.
