The Opportunity

We are looking for a Software Developer (Full Stack) who will be part of NRG's research operations' technology team. This role will focus on building automation tools, AI-driven applications, and web solutions that support NRG's research process. You'll collaborate closely with operations leaders, other developers, and data teams to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and create tools that help scale our business.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the foundation of our internal development function, bringing technical innovation closer to our day-to-day operations.

Your Impact

  • Design and develop full-stack web applications and APIs" to signal ownership of both front- and back-end systems.
  • Develop internal web applications and portals that support operational requests, manage research operations processes, and improve collaboration across teams.
  • Build and deploy AI- and automation-driven solutions for data transformation, workflow optimization, and quality assurance.
  • Integrate internally built applications with existing research platforms such as Forsta to support client requests.
  • Translate business requirements from Research Operations into reliable, user-friendly technical solutions.
  • Contribute to scalable, reusable codebases and ensure tools can support NRG's global research volume.
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies in automation, AI, and web development, applying practical innovations that drive efficiency.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and support knowledge transfer to strengthen NRG's long-term in-house development capabilities.

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience
    –3-4 years of professional, in software development, ideally in a product or operations-focused environment.
  • Skills
    – Experience with both front-end (React, JavaScript, or similar) and back-end (Python) development; experience with APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Proficiency with XML and experience working with survey or data collection platforms (e.g., Decipher, Forsta) is strongly preferred.
  • AI
  • Experience with AI/ML tools, survey platforms, or automation frameworks strongly preferred.
  • Tools
    – Familiarity with Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices. Excellent computer skills and high proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Degree
    – BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent with a strong academic record.
  • Self-starter
    – Internally motivated individual who continuously strives to get things done well, regardless of challenges encountered.
  • Expert multitasker
    –
    Successfully manages time and multiple competing priorities to ensure deadlines are always met. You have no problem with changing direction on priorities when needed.
