Structural Draftsman

QDE Engineering is seeking a talented and reliable Structural Drafter to join our growing team. We are an Australian structural engineering consultancy delivering high-quality designs across residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical drafting skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed structural drawings for residential and commercial projects.
• Produce 3D models and technical drawings using AutoCAD (3D) and Revit.
• Interpret engineering sketches, mark-ups, and specifications.
• Coordinate with engineers to ensure drawings meet design intent and project requirements.
• Assist with revisions, updates, and maintaining drawing standards.
• Meet project deadlines with high-quality output.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a structural drafter.
• Proficient in 3D AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit (essential).
• Good understanding of structural elements (steel, concrete, timber, retaining walls, shoring, etc.).
• Ability to read engineering plans and apply drafting standards.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Reliable, organised, and able to work independently.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work during Australian business hours (AEST/AEDT).

Preferred (but not essential)

• Experience with Australian drafting standards.
• Background working with structural engineering consultancies.
