I. Scope of Work

The Materials and Logistics Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of all material and logistics activities within construction operations. This includes procurement support, warehouse management, inventory control, logistics coordination, and site material distribution to ensure uninterrupted project execution.

He/she ensures that all materials are available, properly stored, accurately recorded, and efficiently delivered to various project sites while maintaining compliance with company standards, cost control, and safety regulations.

II. Core Functions and Responsibilities

A. Material Management

• Supervise the receipt, inspection, and storage of construction materials, consumables, and equipment.
• Implement inventory systems for accurate monitoring of stock levels, material movement, and usage.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Project Engineers for timely replenishment and allocation of materials.
• Ensure material traceability, proper labeling, and documentation of delivery receipts, withdrawal slips, and inventory reports.
• Conduct periodic physical inventory and reconciliation with system records.

B. Logistics & Distribution

• Plan and oversee dispatch and delivery schedules for all project sites in coordination with Site Engineers and Project Managers.
• Optimize logistics routes, vehicle utilization, and delivery timelines to reduce downtime and fuel costs.
• Supervise truckers, drivers, and helpers to ensure compliance with delivery protocols and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate logistics documentation, including waybills, delivery reports, and trip tickets.

C. Warehouse Operations

• Lead and supervise warehouse staff to maintain organized and efficient warehouse operations.
• Implement 5S, safety, and security protocols in the warehouse.
• Maintain cleanliness, proper stacking, and segregation of materials to avoid damage or loss.
• Ensure warehouse equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and utilized.

D. Coordination & Reporting

• Liaise closely with the Procurement Department, Project Sites, Accounting, and Operations.
• Prepare and submit periodic reports (weekly/monthly inventory reports, logistics performance, material cost analysis).
• Participate in coordination meetings to align material and logistics plans with project timelines.

E. Compliance and Continuous Improvement

• Enforce company policies on material issuance, return, and disposal.
• Promote cost-saving initiatives and process improvements in warehousing and logistics.
• Ensure compliance with occupational safety, health, and environmental standards.

V. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or materials management in the construction industry.
• Strong leadership and coordination skills with field exposure.
• Knowledge in ERP, MS Excel, and inventory systems preferred.
• Must be willing to be deployed in Cebu City and travel to project sites as needed.
