Surveyor

Purpose of the Position: Reporting to the Mine Engineering Manager, the Survey Engineer / Mine Surveyor is accountable and responsible for the comprehensive end-of-the-month survey pick-up of all active areas on the Company's controlled area aligned to the Client/s survey cut-off for the volume comparison

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys in order to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
• Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
• Record the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features.
• Plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements.
• Coordinate findings with the work of engineering, clients, and others concerned with projects.
• Train assistants and helpers, and direct their work in such activities as performing surveys or drafting maps.
• Provide daily and weekly survey pick-up of pits, roads, and dumps for reference map updating.
• Compute the actual volume moved and compare it with the Client's volume survey result and provide comprehensive information on any discrepancies between the two computations.
• Set out drill holes based on the drill plan and assist the drilling team in locating the drill area and stringing out of drill holes.
• Perform related functions.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Geodetic Engineering preferably licensed Engineer.
• At least three (3) years of related experience in construction.
• Knowledgeable in AutoCAD and other related software.
• Strategic planning.
• High level of interpersonal skills and integrity;

• Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets
• Ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
