We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Vibration Analyst, Asset Specialist to join our expanding analytics team—someone who not only brings expertise in vibration analysis but also thrives in cross-functional project work. In this newly enhanced role, you'll go beyond analyzing sensor data to help shape the asset intelligence that powers our predictive maintenance programs. This is a key opportunity to influence how Waites gathers, structures, and utilizes machine and asset data, contributing directly to the development of our proprietary Asset Builder application. Job Description

This position will give you the opportunity to:

Support Waites Asset Information Gathering Project

  • Lead efforts to improve the quality of asset data captured during installations and site surveys
  • Train installation team members on which asset data points (e.g., asset type, bearing info, speed, motor/frame details, etc.) are essential for effective vibration analysis
  • Collaborate with project and installation teams to interpret site survey reports and installation documents
  • Extract and validate asset information from customer documentation to support analysis accuracy
  • Assist in building and maintaining the Waites asset database
  • Contribute directly to the functionality and evolution of Waites' internal Asset Builder application
  • Provide feedback loops to product, analytics, and installation teams on data capture effectiveness
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites for data audits, training, or field validation

Requirements

Vibration Analytics

  • 10% of review and report on the general health of rotating equipment using vibration analysis
  • Use vibration analysis to determine the root cause of machine faults and create customer-oriented solutions to prevent equipment downtime
  • Support customer relationships through clear communication and expert insights
  • Improve manufacturing equipment reliability and uptime at customers' plants
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships founded on trust, respect, and reliability
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently with little supervision
  • Assume management duties when necessary
  • Shadow, learn, and work alongside a team of Vibration Analysts 
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • VCAT II or III certification required
  • 5+ years of vibration analysis experience preferred
  • Preferred Bachelor's or Associate's degree, or equivalent experience
  • Deep understanding of mechanical systems and rotating equipment. Ideally, comes from a background in mechanical engineering, reliability, etc. 
  • Strong understanding of how high-quality machine and asset data influences analytical outcomes
  • Knowledge of machine components and naming conventions for rotating equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong collaboration and customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to work and communicate across technical and non-technical teams
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet critical deadlines
