Phlebotomists are responsible for efficiently and accurately performing blood draws and transfusions on both blood donors and patients. They play a vital role in the diagnostic process and patient care by ensuring that specimens are collected safely and handled properly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for blood draws and explain procedures to ensure comfort and understanding.
  • Perform venipuncture and other blood collection techniques, ensuring proper technique and minimal patient discomfort.
  • Follow all health, safety, and infection control protocols to maintain clean and sanitary work areas.
  • Gather and prepare all necessary medical materials (e.g., needles, sample vials, test tubes, and storage bags).
  • Verify patient identity and accurately label blood samples to avoid errors.
  • Enter and update patient information in the organization's electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Support patients who are nervous or anxious, helping them stay calm during the procedure.
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians and follow clinical directives at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of BS Med Tech or BS Medical Laboratory Science; preferably with valid PRC license
  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Familiar with patient scheduling systems and electronic health records
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism
  • Proficient in using scheduling software, electronic health records, and basic office applications
  • Amenable to work in a rotational shifting schedule
