The Technical Specialist in a Breeder Farm provides support in managing and overseeing farm operations related to the breeding and care of poultry (or other livestock). The assistant works closely with farm supervisors and veterinarians to ensure optimal breeding conditions, health monitoring, feed management, and farm sanitation.
Key Responsibilities:
Breeder Management:
- Assist in monitoring the health and productivity of breeder birds or animals.
- Ensure proper handling and care of animals during breeding, laying, and hatching processes.
- Monitor and record breeding performance data such as fertility rates, hatchability, and chick production.
Feed and Nutrition:
- Ensure breeders are receiving appropriate and balanced feed.
- Assist in managing feed inventory and coordinating feed delivery.
- Observe and report any changes in feeding habits or nutritional concerns.
Health and Biosecurity:
- Assist in health monitoring, including observing for any signs of illness or abnormal behavior.
- Administer vaccines and medications as directed by veterinarians or farm management.
- Help implement biosecurity measures, including sanitation and hygiene protocols to prevent disease outbreaks.
- Ensure proper waste management and disinfection of equipment and facilities.
Facility and Equipment Maintenance:
- Support the maintenance of breeding facilities, including nests, feeders, and waterers.
- Help in ensuring proper lighting, ventilation, and temperature control in breeder houses.
- Report any mechanical or facility issues to the management for repairs.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of breeding activities, egg production, feed consumption, and health treatments.
- Assist in generating weekly and monthly reports on farm performance metrics.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with farm staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinate with veterinarians, feed suppliers, and farm management for the well-being of the breeders.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards related to animal welfare, environmental management, and food safety.
- Participate in audits and inspections as needed.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of Animal Science or Agriculture or equivalent;
- Experience working in poultry or livestock farming, preferably in a breeder farm.
- Knowledge of animal husbandry, breeding processes, and health management.
- Basic understanding of biosecurity measures and farm safety.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php21, Php23,500.00 per month
