
Regional Finance Head

As a Regional Finance Head, you will be responsible for the financial operations of the region. This includes overseeing accounting functions, managing cash flows, controlling costs and budgets, handling treasury functions, managing the procurement process, leading the annual budget plan, coordinating with operations, implementing finance policies and procedures, ensuring reporting compliance, and managing tax responsibilities.
In this role, you will display strong leadership competencies to support operations and management by leveraging your expertise to foster a progressive and collaborative relationship with all departments. Your ability to provide strategic financial guidance and support will be crucial in driving the region towards its financial goals and objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management
- Manage the operations of the Accounting, Procurement, Treasury, Financial Planning, and Systems and Processes aspects of finance.
- Develop an efficient and professional team within the Department.
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work objectives.
- Provide excellent leadership, foster teamwork, celebrate top performance, and encourage work/life balance.
- Cultivate a culture of open and collaborative relationships among employees, leading by example.
- Oversee outsourced activities related to finance and accounting.
- Oversee the accounting operations of any subsidiary of the Company.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an effective system of finance policies and procedures.
- Build healthy business relationships with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and other stakeholders.
Transactions
- Approve all expenses based on existing global and regional policies and procedures.
- Manage cash flows and submit cash flow reports to the Global Finance Group regularly.
- Ensure compliance with the Revenue Department by submitting all tax returns.
- Comply with global policies and procedures related to finance.
- Implement vendor accreditation for the region.
- Coordinate with the Global Finance Group for the review and implementation of systems and processes.
- Perform capital budgeting for new projects.
- Ensure timely processing of payroll information with minimal errors and issuance of compensation payments to employees by scheduled pay dates.
- Complete comprehensive bank and cash reconciliations at regular intervals.
- Manage debt payments for the region.
- Operate the company accounting, POS, reservation software, and any other software utilized in accounting operations effectively.
- Develop and maintain a chart of accounts that fulfills the record-keeping and management reporting requirements of the business, universally adopted across the Group.
- Ensure a strong accounting and operation control environment to safeguard Company assets.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive system of controls over all accounting functions within the company.
Reporting
- Compile and issue accurate financial statements on a timely basis.
- Measure and report the financial and operational performance of the company and its business units in ongoing reports to management.
- Prepare various financial analyses for management.
- Represent the company accounts department in scheduled Head of Department meetings.
- Support and liaise with the Heads of Departments in meeting the strategic goals of the Group.
- Proactively seek and identify opportunities to reduce costs, enhance revenues, and improve profits, and promptly and effectively report them to management.
- Assist in the preparation of the company's annual reports.
- Provide information required by internal, external, and regulatory auditors to examine the company's in-regional financial statements and accounting system.
- Implement and maintain an effective infrastructure of policies, procedures, and calendar activities for the reporting of accurate and timely financial results as guided by the Group Financial Controller.
Planning
- Coordinate the creation of regional-wide annual budgets and test their achievability.
- Calculate variances between actual and budgeted results and report the reasoning for variances to management.
Compliance
- Monitor the company in regional compliance with any existing debt covenants and warn management of covenant breaches.
- Comply with any filing requirements imposed by local, state, or regional governing authorities.
- Ensure compliance with tax reporting and payment requirements in line with Tax consultant's guidance.
Health and Safety
- Proactively support the company's health and safety program.
- Ensure all team members understand their health and safety responsibilities as outlined in the company's Health and Safety Policy, and monitor compliance with its procedures.
- Be aware of and comply with safe working practices as laid down in the Health and Safety Policy applicable to your workplace. This includes awareness of any specific hazards.
- Report any building, plant, or equipment defects according to hostel procedures.
- Ensure immediate reporting of any accidents involving team members, customers, or visitors according to established procedures. Promote awareness of these procedures across the division.
- Attend mandatory fire and relevant health and safety training.
- Be fully conversant with and abide by all fire and health and safety rules. Ensure effective management of these aspects across the operation.
- Maintain thorough familiarity with all risk assessments for your departments, COSHH regulations, and fire/bomb procedures.
- Ensure your team stays up-to-date and proactively manages their responsibilities in these areas.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is highly desirable.
- Proven years of experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably within a regional or multi-national organization.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
- Experience in managing and leading teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Proficiency in financial management software and systems.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and address financial risks and opportunities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
