Recruitment and Business Development (BD) Director Job Description
This dual-focused role requires a strategic leader adept at both
talent acquisition
and
driving commercial growth
. The Director is responsible for developing and executing strategies that ensure the organization has the necessary human capital to meet its business objectives while simultaneously identifying and securing new revenue opportunities.
Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Talent Strategy
- Develop and oversee
a comprehensive recruitment strategy aligned with the company's current and future business needs. - Lead
the Talent Acquisition team, managing the full recruitment life cycle from sourcing and screening to offer negotiation and onboarding. - Establish
key recruiting metrics and develop reporting to track efficiency, quality of hire, and time-to-fill. - Drive
employer branding initiatives to attract top-tier talent and position the company as an employer of choice. - Ensure
all recruitment practices comply with employment law and internal policies.
Business Development & Growth
- Identify, evaluate, and secure
new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and client relationships. - Develop and implement
effective BD strategies to expand market share and achieve revenue targets. - Manage
the end-to-end sales process, including lead generation, proposal development, presentation, and contract negotiation. - Collaborate
with executive leadership to define target markets, service/product offerings, and pricing strategies. - Monitor
market trends, competitor activities, and economic indicators to identify potential risks and opportunities.
Leadership & Management
- Serve
as a key member of the executive or senior leadership team, contributing to overall organizational strategy. - Manage
the combined Recruitment and BD budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources. - Mentor and develop
direct reports in both the recruitment and business development functions.
