QUALIFICATION

  • Must be a Licensed Civil Engineering
  • In-depth knowledge on design of civil structures not limited to roads, drainage, general civil and land development projects, etc. Familiarity with applicable design codes related to analysis and design of civil structures. Advanced Proficiency with relevant design software and Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • With at least 3 years of experience in designing civil structures and other design-related experience including practical field experience

JOB DESCRIPTION

Supervision

  • Leads and provides technical advice to subordinates to ensure timely delivery of projects with utmost quality and safety
  • Provides direction for specific tasks and assigns work to subordinates not limited to trainees, junior engineers, junior designers, drafters, project sub-groups, etc
  • Review and verify calculations, design, and engineering drawings prepared by subordinates
  • Participates in the professional development of subordinates

Design Works

  • Develop concept design during conceptual development of projects
  • Performs analysis and design of civil structures not limited to roads, drainage, general civil, land development projects, etc
  • Preparation of detailed engineering design not limited to calculations, engineering drawings, specifications, etc
  • Provides assistance in calculations of material take-offs and cost of development of projects
  • Familiarize self with the applicable codes and standard in the Philippines
  • Participates in the development of company standards and specifications for use in design and build projects

Coordination

  • Collaborate with other departments in conducting feasibility assessment of projects
  • Coordinates conceptual design with other departments during conceptual development of projects
  • Coordinates design review with Clients, Client's Consultants, outsourced Designers and Consultants, outsourced Peer Reviewers, etc
  • Coordinates technical issues and concerns not limited to constructability requirements, conflict in drawings and specifications, etc. with other departments and projects
  • Coordinates changes, updates and revisions of design criteria, technical specifications, calculations, etc. with concerned entities

Cost

  • Explores value engineering design options where there are potential cost savings
  • Review Contract Documents and Employer's Requirements with possible impact on Design Cost
