We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Greenhouse Maintenance Specialist to ensure the optimal health and cleanliness of our greenhouse facilities and plants. This role is critical in supporting our commitment to sustainable practices, particularly through the effective segregation and processing of organic waste into nutrient-rich fertilizer. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of horticultural practices, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to facility maintenance.
Horticultural Maintenance & Plant Care
- Perform daily inspection of plants for signs of pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies; apply appropriate treatment as needed.
- Monitor and adjust greenhouse environmental controls (temperature, humidity, ventilation, and lighting) to ensure ideal growing conditions for various crops.
- Execute watering, pruning, potting, and transplanting tasks following established horticultural protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within all growing areas, walkway, and storage spaces.
Sustainable Waste Management & Fertilization
- Implement and strictly manage the segregation process for all organic waste collected from Runik, specifically separating food scraps from general refuse.
- Oversee, operate, and maintain the system (piles, bins, or other specialized equipment) for converting segregated food waste into usable fertilizer/compost.
- Monitor the composting process closely to ensure optimal temperature, moisture, and carbon/nitrogen balance for rapid, effective decomposition of resort food waste.
- Apply the finished organic fertilizer to greenhouse crops according to a scheduled nutrient management plan, reducing reliance on external inputs.
- Maintain detailed records of waste volume received, compost output, and fertilizer application rates.
Facility & Operational Upkeep
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance on all greenhouse structures, irrigation lines, and climate control equipment.
- Ensure all work areas, including the composting zone, remain clean, safe, and orderly.
- Manage and track inventory of soil amendments, growing media, tools, and essential consumables.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php13, Php15,000.00 per month
