Accounting Associate 1 — AP & General Accounting

(Disbursements, AP, Cash Advances, Petty Cash, Credit Card, Bank Recon, Support to Outsourced Accounting)

A. Education


• Graduate of BS in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or Business Administration (Accounting/Finance major)


• CPA not required but a plus

B. Work Experience (Required)

At least 1–3 years experience in:


• Accounts Payable processing


• Disbursement and voucher preparation


• Petty cash and cash advance liquidation review


• Credit card statement reconciliation


• Bank reconciliation (strong requirement)


• Expense classification and GL coding


• Vendor management

C. Technical Skills

Must have:


• Strong Excel skills (pivot, vlookup, reconciliation templates)


• Experience with accounting systems/ERPs


• Knowledge of basic BIR expense compliance (VAT, EWT documentation)


• Ability to prepare AP Aging Reports and cash disbursement summaries


• Ability to work with outsourced accountants (submitting AP schedules, recon files)

D. Soft Skills / Attributes


• Strong accuracy for verification-heavy tasks


• Can perform bank errands and physical inventory checks


• Can work independently with minimal supervision

• Experience verifying OR/TIN requirements under BIR rules


• Familiarity with credit card expense auditing

• Graduate of BS in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or Finance/Business Administration (Accounting track)


• CPA not required but preferred for this role

At least 1–3 years experience in:


• Accounts Receivable


• Billing & Official Receipts


• AR Aging preparation and collection follow-up


• Daily sales reporting


• Preparing tax requirements for accountants


• Coordinating with external auditors or outsourced accountants


• SEC filings (GIS, AFS coordination)


• Withholding tax and VAT familiarity

C. Technical Skills

Must have:


• Strong skills in Excel


• Familiarity with BIR forms (2550M/Q, 1601C, 1601E, 2316, alphalist)


• Experience using eBIRForms or working with accountants who do


• Proficiency in reports consolidation (Sales Summary, OR logs, Billing lists)


• Ability to validate BIR computations prepared by outsourced accountants


• Understanding of SEC reportorial requirements (GIS, corporate docs)
