Markets Governance & Control collaborates with the Markets businesses and functions like Compliance, Operational Risk, and Internal Audit to identify, evaluate, and manage operational and compliance risks within Markets Sales and Trading.

The 1st Line of Defence (1LOD) Markets Controls Testing team is part of Markets Governance & Control, responsible for executing a comprehensive, risk-based control testing program covering all Markets businesses globally. Its primary mission is to support management in monitoring control frameworks and residual risk profiles, ensuring responsible financial services and effective risk management. This position reports to the Global Markets Control Testing Programme Head within the Markets Governance & Control Team, who leads a team of approximately 40 controls testing professionals.

Key Responsibilities:Planning, executing, and reporting control testing results for Markets Trading and Sales businesses. Designing controls and testing their operating effectiveness, escalating issues as needed. Maintaining high standards for testing activities and documentation.

Supporting stakeholders in control remediation efforts. Building strong relationships with Front Office, Markets Conduct Risk, Compliance, and Operational Risk teams. Drafting impactful summaries from testing activities.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:At least 2 years of experience in controls testing, internal/external audit, or similar disciplines. Understanding of Markets Sales and Trading activities, risks, and controls. Knowledge of control design assessment and effectiveness testing techniques.

Experience in developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships. Education:Bachelor's degree preferred, but industry experience and a strong delivery record are also valued.
