Chemical Technician

Position Overview:

The Chemical Technician shall be responsible for performing laboratory analyses and technical work related to chemical testing and quality control. The role involves ensuring that laboratory processes, documentation, and safety protocols are strictly observed to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (B.S. Chem)
• Preferably a PRC Licensed Chemical Technician
• Must possess the ability to independently plan, organize, and carry out assigned tasks efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct laboratory chemical analyses of test samples such as paint, cement, water, asphalt, soil, aggregate, zinc coating, and steel.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of all test samples in accordance with laboratory procedures and safety standards.
• Verify that all incoming samples are in good condition and conform to required specifications.
• Prepare chemical reagents and solutions necessary for testing procedures.
• Properly monitor, use, and store all chemical equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Perform routine equipment verification, maintenance, and environmental condition monitoring.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of all test data, reports, and related documentation.
• Compute and submit test results to the Section Head for review and validation.
• Maintain orderliness, cleanliness, and security within the chemical laboratory area.
• Identify and report potential risks to the Section Head and assist in risk assessment activities when required.
