Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head Buyer for our grocery department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing purchasing activities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that our product assortment meets customer needs while optimizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies for grocery products.
• Analyze market trends and consumer preferences to inform buying decisions.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms.
• Manage inventory levels to minimize waste while ensuring product availability.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to promote new products and manage promotions.
• Lead and mentor a team of buyers, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• At least one year of experience in grocery buying or merchandising.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Proven track record of successful vendor management and relationship building.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
