Job Summary:

The Web Developer is responsible for supporting the SEO team by implementing technical SEO fixes, making minor design changes, and adding tracking scripts for analytics and conversion tracking. This role requires fluency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and a solid understanding of web server, web hosting, and email technologies. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the SEO teams to enhance website performance, user experience, and tracking capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical SEO Implementation:

• SEO Fixes: Implement technical SEO recommendations such as meta tag adjustments, schema markup, URL structuring, and site speed optimizations.

• Website Audits: Assist in conducting technical SEO audits to identify issues affecting search engine crawlability and indexing.

Design and Development:

• Minor Design Changes: Make front-end adjustments to website layouts, templates, and user interface elements as requested by the SEO or content teams.

• Responsive Design: Ensure websites are mobile-friendly and responsive across various devices and browsers.

Tracking and Analytics:

• Script Implementation: Add and manage tracking scripts for Google Analytics, form tracking, call tracking, and other third-party tools either directly on websites or via Google Tag Manager.

• Tag Management: Set up and manage tags, triggers, and variables in Google Tag Manager to facilitate advanced tracking requirements.

• Data Layer Management: Work with the SEO and analytics teams to implement data layers for enhanced e-commerce tracking and custom event tracking.

Collaboration and Support:

• Team Coordination: Work closely with SEO specialists, content creators, and marketing teams to align web development tasks with overall SEO strategies.

• Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to internal teams for website-related queries and issues.

Website Maintenance:

• Updates and Patches: Keep websites updated with the latest security patches and software updates.

• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve website performance issues, downtime, and errors promptly.

• Backup and Recovery: Ensure regular backups are performed and recovery procedures are in place.

Web Server and Hosting Management:

• Server Configuration: Manage web server settings to optimize performance and security.

• Hosting Environments: Oversee hosting environments, including setup, migration, and maintenance of hosting accounts.

• Email Technologies: Configure and manage email services related to website domains, including SMTP settings and contact form integrations.

Quality Assurance:

• Testing: Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure consistent user experience.

• Code Review: Maintain clean, well-documented code and adhere to best practices in web development.

Job requirements Qualifications:

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of professional web development experience.

• Experience working in an SEO agency or digital marketing environment is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Programming Languages: Fluent in PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.

• Frameworks and Libraries: Familiarity with jQuery, Bootstrap, or other relevant frameworks.

• CMS Platforms: Experience with WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, Drupal, Joomla, or other content management systems.

SEO Tools: 

• Understanding of SEO tools like Google Search Console and how development work impacts SEO.

• Analytics Tools: Proficient in implementing and managing Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and other tracking tools.

Web Servers:

• Knowledge of Apache, Nginx, or IIS server configurations.

• Web Hosting: Experience with hosting providers, cPanel, FTP, and DNS management.

Email Technologies: 

• Understanding of SMTP, POP3, IMAP protocols, and email deliverability.

• Ability to configure SMTP routing for Contact Form delivery

Additional Skills:

• Version Control: Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.

• Problem-Solving: Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

• Security Practices: Basic knowledge of web security best practices to protect against common vulnerabilities.

• Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.

• Knowledge of database management using MySQL or similar databases.
