KEY COMPETENCIES:

Experience/Qualifications

• Graduate of Bachelor of Library and Information Science
• Have related work experience of at least 2 years

Knowledge

• Abstracting, Subject Cataloging, Indexing and Readers Services

Skills (including technology)

• Good MS Powerpoint knowledge
• Excellent in MS Excel knowledge
• Must have good interpersonal skills
• Strong IT skills and familiarity with the use of databases and the internet.
• Excellent administration and organisational skills.
• Has the ability to manage projects and give presentations
• Has the ability to work with people from a range of backgrounds and with a range of needs

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Working closely with all members of the Library Team and other personnel of the School
• Reference Service: Provides library orientation to both the faculty and the students regarding the policies, procedures, rules and regulations and physical orientation of the library
• Cataloging: Organizes new and old materials quickly, efficiently and accurately
• Weeding: Deselects and takes out books that are worn out, no longer updated, and with multiple copies
• Floor Plan: Arranges the physical set up of the library
• Sourcing of Library Resources: Coordinate with different departments to ensure effective and efficient sourcing of Library resources
• Library Website Maintenance: Coordinate with the Library members and outsourced supplier in maintaining excellent status of the library website and system
• Ad hoc projects as required
