Job Title: Senior Food Technologist

Department: Research and Development (R&D)

Reports To: R&D Manager / General Manager

Location: Victoneta Ave, Malabon City

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

The Senior Food Technologist is responsible for leading product research, formulation, and process development to ensure innovative, high-quality, and market-ready food products. This role involves overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring new products from concept to commercialization.

Key Responsibilities:


• Product Development:


• Develop and improve formulations for fruit and vegetable powders, condiments, and other food products.


• Conduct laboratory trials, pilot-scale production, and shelf-life studies.


• Ensure new products meet sensory, nutritional, and functional requirements.


• Quality Assurance & Compliance:


• Ensure compliance with FDA, DOST, DTI, and other regulatory requirements.


• Review raw material and packaging specifications to meet food safety standards.


• Maintain documentation of technical data, SOPs, and product specifications.


• Process Optimization:


• Evaluate and optimize existing production processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.


• Implement continuous improvement initiatives in product quality and yield.


• Research & Innovation:


• Lead R&D projects exploring new ingredients, technologies, and processing methods.


• Monitor industry trends and recommend innovative product ideas aligned with market needs.


• Technical Support:


• Provide technical guidance to production, marketing, and quality assurance teams.


• Support client inquiries and conduct product presentations or demonstrations when required.


• Leadership & Supervision:


• Mentor junior food technologists and lab assistants.


• Oversee R&D schedules, ensuring timely completion of project milestones.

Qualifications:


• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, or related field.


• At least 5 years of experience in food manufacturing or product development.


• Strong knowledge of food processing, formulation, sensory evaluation, and food safety regulations.


• Proficiency in MS Office, data analysis, and technical reporting.


• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Experience with fruit and herbal powder processing or spray drying technology.


• Familiarity with Halal, HACCP, and ISO standards.


• Strong background in ingredient functionality and natural product development.
