Occupational Therapist

A Pediatric Occupational Therapist specializes in assessing and providing therapeutic interventions for infants, children, and adolescents with developmental, physical, sensory, or emotional challenges. Their goal is to enhance children's ability to perform daily activities, improve motor skills, and support overall growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of children to identify developmental delays, sensory processing issues, or functional limitations.

• Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's developmental needs and family goals.

• Implement therapy sessions using play-based, sensory, motor, and cognitive activities to promote skill development.

• Assist children in improving activities of daily living (ADLs), such as feeding, dressing, handwriting, and self-care.

• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to support the child's development across different environments.

• Educate parents and caregivers on techniques, exercises, and strategies to reinforce progress at home.

• Monitor and document progress, adjusting therapy plans accordingly.

• Advocate for the child's needs within educational and healthcare settings.

• Stay updated on current pediatric therapy practices and participate in continuing education.

• Promote awareness and understanding of pediatric occupational therapy services within the community.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.

• Licensed or registered with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in the Philippines.

• Experience or specialization in pediatric therapy is preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children and families.

• Patience, creativity, and a child-centered approach.

• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
