JOB PURPOSE

To underwrite, design benefit and determine membership fees for health care coverage; review claims experience and health profile of existing accounts and determine membership fees for renewal; assist in the design, development or enhancement of products and conduct of actuarial studies; and provide actuarial and technical support to other work units.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Underwrites, designs benefit, and determines membership fees of new business corporate accounts.

Major Activities:

  • Review and validate data.
  • Underwriting and designs benefits.
  • Determines applicable membership fees.
  • Prepares proposal of membership fees and applicable benefit provisions.

  • Maintains database of received requests for proposals and released proposals.

  • Conduct various actuarial studies such as but not limited to Morbidity Study, Expense Analysis and Medical Loss Ratio Study. The actuarial assistant shall also provide technical support in the determination of actuarial reserves necessary for regular financial reportorial requirements (monthly, quarterly and annual).

  • Reviews claims experience and health profile of existing corporate accounts and determines renewal membership fees.

Major Activities:

  • Generates claims lists and lists of pending LOA, summary of corporate billings and lists of enrollees of existing corporate accounts due for renewal monthly.
  • Reviews, evaluates and analyzes claims experience and health profile.
  • Gathers data and evaluates requests for enhancements or changes in the health care program, if any.
  • Determines applicable membership fees for renewal.
  • Prepares proposal of renewal membership fees and applicable benefit provisions.

  • Maintains database of proposals released for existing accounts.

  • Review eligibility of existing corporate accounts for Experience Discount Benefit and Agents' eligibility for contingent commission.

  • Validate Agreement Benefits Summary as basis of new business accounts' policy setup and Health Care Agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS

1.Education: Bachelor's degree holder in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other related courses.

2. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • With good mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Must be computer literate with experience in at least one programming language.
  • With good written /verbal communication skills.
  • With excellent customer service orientation and skills.
