Senior Cloud Engineer

Summary

Senzu Cloud is currently seeking a passionate, experienced and motivated professional to fill the role of a Cloud Engineer in our Philippines location or remote. This person will play a crucial role in helping organizations migrate their applications to the cloud, optimize their cloud infrastructure, and drive successful cloud initiatives. Their expertise will contribute to efficient, secure, and scalable cloud solutions. This person will also be a customer service expert alongside a team of experienced Cloud professionals working towards resolving customer tasks and tickets and proactively enhancing processes to optimize customer environments.

Scope/Level of Decision Making

This is an exempt position operating under limited decision-making and supervision. Position performs a variety of assigned activities, referring to more complex issues to the manager.

Primary Responsibilities

• The Senzu Cloud Services Team helps customers transform and evolve their business through the use of cloud services. As part of this agile team, you will work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and carry out both complex Engineering tasks as well as troubleshooting customer issues. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner and customer communications and relationships are prioritized.
• Deploy, and support Kubernetes-based infrastructure (EKS/AKS) for production workloads.
• Implement infrastructure automation using Terraform across AWS and Azure.
• Automate deployment pipelines and GitOps workflows using tools like ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within Kubernetes clusters including persistent storage, networking, and RBAC.
• Working in tandem with our architecture team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the customer.
• Carry out infrastructure and platform engineering related tasks as assigned through project boards or a ticketing system, referring complicated issues and escalations to a senior resource
• Ensuring assigned tasks are triaged, scoped and completed in accordance with our end-to-end processes.
• Deploy new Infrastructure as well as maintain and monitor existing Infrastructure
• Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines
• Employing problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve/escalate issues before they become larger problems.
• Maintain professional and personal growth by completing Cloud certifications and training to ensure that you are aware of the latest CSP developments and roadmaps.
• Help create and maintain relevant Technical Support documentation

Qualifications

• Requires 6-8+ years of cloud engineering experience, with significant senior or lead experience.
• Proven experience delivering client-facing professional services, including requirements gathering, solution architecture presentation, and hands-on project execution.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to design solutions not immediately apparent
• Strong desire to be coached and mentored to professionally develop technical and client-facing skills
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting multiple customers via multiple channels
• Skilled at working in tandem with a team of engineers, or alone as required
• Strong knowledge of cloud computing principles and technologies
• Professional-level certifications in major cloud platforms are highly desirable (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect).

Knowledge of the following technologies:

• Cloud Platforms: Expert proficiency in AWS, Azure, GCP (deep expertise in at least one primary platform, with multi-cloud experience a significant plus)
• Monitoring & Observability: Proficient to Expert proficiency in Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Application Insights
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Expert proficiency in Terraform (highly preferred), AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, Ansible
• Strong grasp of containerization, Helm, GitOps, Kustomize, and Kubernetes best practices.
• Scripting & Automation: Expert proficiency in Python (highly preferred), PowerShell, Bash
• CI/CD: Github Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline
• Containerization & Orchestration: Expert proficiency in Kubernetes ( EKS & AKS highly preferred)
• Networking: Expert proficiency in VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancing, VPNs, firewalls, advanced cloud networking constructs
• Security: Proficient to Expert proficiency in IAM, encryption, vulnerability management, network security groups, WAF, security best practices
• Databases: Understanding of  Relational (e.g., RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL) & NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB, Cosmos DB) cloud database services
• Operating Systems: Expert proficiency in Linux (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu), Windows Server

Education

• Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.

Travel Expectation
