Horticulturist

Job Description:

Plant Care & Cultivation:

• Oversee the planting, cultivation, and maintenance of gardens, landscapes, or agricultural crops.
• Monitor plant health and growth, applying treatments like fertilizers, pesticides, and water as necessary.

Soil & Environmental Management:

• Analyze soil composition and conditions, advising on improvements (e.g., soil amendments, pH adjustments).
• Develop and implement sustainable agricultural practices, including organic farming techniques.
• Monitor environmental factors (temperature, humidity, light) to ensure optimal growing conditions.

Pest and Disease Control:

• Identify and manage pests, diseases, and other plant health issues.
• Implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to minimize the use of harmful chemicals.

Landscape Design & Maintenance:

• Maintain and improve existing landscapes or gardens for private clients, public spaces, or institutions.

Administrative & Management Tasks:

• Manage budgets, resources, and staff in a horticultural business or project.
• Keep records of plant health, growth patterns, and environmental conditions.
• Conducting weekly job site inspections
• Completing job site checklist
• Installation of required materials for landscaping/irrigation/site development
• Scheduling delivery of materials and equipment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, Horticulturist or related field
• Ability to work in various weather conditions, as the role often involves hands-on tasks like planting, pruning, and soil management.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose plant problems and implement solutions.
• Ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and the public.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Minimum of 5 years on site experience
• Willing to do fieldwork

Work Schedule:

• On-site
• Monday - Saturday, 8am - 5pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Php30,000.00 per month
