QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of a two-year certificate in dental hygiene conferred by a recognized and legally constituted college or school of dentistry registered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority

(TESDA) .

Completion of at least six (6) months of on-the-job training in a Department of Health (DOH)-registered and DOH-licensed dental laboratory .

JOB DESCRIPTION

  Preventive Care: Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains.

  Patient Assessment: Conduct oral health screenings, review medical histories, and take vital signs.

  Radiography: Take and develop dental X-rays to assist in diagnosis.

  Treatment Application: Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and topical anesthetics.

  Patient Education: Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, diet, and the prevention of oral diseases.

  Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes.

  Assistance: Support dentists during procedures and manage infection control protocols.
