Job Description
1. Manage IT Infrastructure:

Oversee and maintain the restaurant's IT systems, including POS systems, networks, servers, and security systems.

Ensure reliable and secure internet and communication systems for staff and customer-facing services (e.g., online ordering, Wi-Fi).
2. Troubleshoot and Resolve IT Issues:

Quickly diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems to minimize downtime.

Support the team with any technology-related issues, ensuring the restaurant operates smoothly without technical disruptions.
3. Network and Data Security:

Implement security protocols to protect sensitive data, including customer information and financial transactions.

Regularly update and patch systems to safeguard against cybersecurity threats.

Perform data backups and disaster recovery procedures.
4. POS and Software Management:

Maintain and troubleshoot point-of-sale (POS) systems, ensuring smooth transactions and integration with inventory and accounting systems.

Manage software updates and integration with other business systems (e.g., scheduling, inventory management).
5. Technology Support and Training:

Provide training and support to staff on using restaurant technology systems (e.g., POS, reservation systems, mobile apps).

Assist in the onboarding of new systems or upgrades, ensuring staff are familiar with new tools and processes.
6. Vendor and Supplier Management:

Manage relationships with IT vendors, ensuring timely delivery of services, hardware, and software.

Negotiate contracts and service agreements with IT service providers to ensure the best pricing and terms.
7. Budgeting and Cost Management:

Manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions for hardware, software, and other technology needs.

Research and recommend new technologies that improve operational efficiency or customer experience.
8. System Upgrades and Maintenance:

Plan and execute regular system upgrades, ensuring that all technology infrastructure remains up-to-date and efficient.

Monitor system performance and proactively address issues before they impact operations.
9. Reporting and Documentation:

Keep detailed records of IT systems, software, licenses, warranties, and service contracts.

Provide regular reports to upper management regarding system performance, security, and any issues or improvements.
Additional Responsibilities:

Stay informed about emerging technologies in the restaurant and hospitality industry to recommend innovative solutions.

Ensure smooth integration of online ordering systems, delivery services, and third-party apps into existing IT infrastructure.

Monitor and report on the effectiveness of technology investments and initiatives, suggesting areas for improvement.
Job Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.

IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are often preferred.

Several years of experience in IT management or network administration, with a background in supporting businesses in a fast-paced environment like a food chain.

Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and other restaurant-specific technologies is highly valuable.
Skills:
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and security systems.
Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.
Project Management: Experience managing IT projects, system upgrades, and installations.
Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff and provide training when needed.
Cybersecurity Awareness: Knowledge of security protocols and data protection measures to ensure the safety of business and customer data.
Vendor Management: Experience working with external IT vendors and suppliers.
